Type in the sample text as fast and as accurately as you can and find out what's your words per minute average or how many mistakes you make while writing.
Typing Speedometer Software allows you to measure your typing speed and to see how it increases as you practice. It includes almost 400 sample texts for you to type, so that the program is able to measure your speed. Some of those texts may appear to be too large, but you can stop the speed measuring at any moment. In addition, you can add your own texts to the database very easily.
The program's user interface is intuitive and easy to use, though its visual design is not very attractive and could be improved. It includes two buttons to start and stop the speed measuring process. When you press the "Start" button, any of the existing texts is randomly selected and displayed in the top panel - you can then start typing in the bottom panel. Whether you choose to type the whole text or a part only, you will need to press the "Stop" button to finish the process and have the statistics displayed for you.
Those statistics appear on a separate window, where the text you typed is shown with all your mistakes highlighted. There you can also check your accuracy percentage, the number of correct and mistaken words, your typing speed in WPM (words per minute), the total time, and the overall number of typed words. more
